Gods & Cults
CANADENSIS
GOD: Ziishy (Portrait)
CELEBRATION: the Hunter & the Hound
MAIN CONTACT: aj
TITLES: The Hunter, Temis, The God of Good Blood, The Fang & Blade, The Hound
Facets of Worship
The god of the Cult of Canadensis is a two-aspected god that manifests as either head bowed (the Hound) or eyes forward (the Hunter). Ziishy celebrates both the thrill of the hunt and the submission of a canine companion. Old rituals for Ziishy were often centered around marking something — or someone — as prey and chasing them through the woods at night; smaller practices included gestures of wearing collars, gifting ornate but practical knives, breaking down and preserving carcasses. Despite being two-aspected, Ziishy is not mercurial. The Hunter and the Hound work in tandem with a goal-oriented focus that can border on obsession.
Rules of Living
The Cult of Canadensis matches the drive of their patron. Clothes are often greens, browns and other natural hues with the occasional bright accent. Pants with pockets, jackets for any weather and pragmatic gear for spending time in the woods are all staples of their wardrobe. That does not mean they are without finery and jewelry -- the result of a hunt is a trophy. Horns, fangs, scales and other animal parts are often part of the jewelry designs but even a whole snake covered in gold worn as a necklace can be found. (Moodboard).
GRACILLIS
GOD: Zkingral (Portrait)
CELEBRATION: the Carnival of Bones
MAIN CONTACT: aj
TITLES: Ringmaster of the Underworld, Little God of Joys, Master of Ceremonies, The Fool
Facets of Worship
The god of the Cult of Gracillis can take many appearances, but is never seen without a mask. Whimsical and mercurial, The Fool is everything 'foolish' from genuine laughter to the folly of man. Rituals to this god often revolve around gambles or games of chance, anything from throwing horseshoes to Russian Roulette. An alternative way to capture the god's attention or favor is to simply do something 'interesting.' Some may assume that the Fool's domain is only laughter, but the other half of their domain is that of bones and blood and death — because what is the biggest punchline of all except death?
Rules of Living
The Cult of Gracillis matches the whimsy of their patron. Clothes are festive and layered but not conservative. There are many ruffles or lace and there may even be hints of skin or cut-outs in clothes that seem scandalous. Masks are also common, as well as gloves and heels. Their accessory preferences also lean towards layers -- many bangles, several shawls and scarves, multiple tiaras and in the event they wear a singular hat, there are multiple embellishments and decorations on said singular hat. AMMON
GOD: Zznorimine (Portrait)
CELEBRATION: the Heart of Depth
MAIN CONTACT: av
TITLES: The God of Night Promises, Jen, Ictuld'lorc, Hadallyc, The Abyssal
Facets of Worship
The god of the Cult of Ammon is an enigmatic figure. She is associated with the mysteries of the deep ocean and of the deep sea. She's a watercolor of a figure, boundaries so soft you might lose yourself in them. Rituals for the Abyssal revolve around letting go and becoming part of something larger: boats out to the ocean with no compass, walking into the dark and letting fate steer you, nightswimming and messages in a bottle cast out into the sea or secrets whispered to the stars. Some may think the ambiguity is the god being permissive, but she is just as demanding as any divine being.
Rules of Living
The Cult of Ammon is elegant and free-flowing. Their clothes are often loose and draping with gradiated colors and soft materials. Silks and sheer materials are common. Very rarely do the cult members wear hats but circlets and tiaras are common. There is a simple elegance to their clothes and also their jewelry -- thin chains and fine details dominate their finery. Members of Ammon rarely show their ankles, either because the hem of their gowns are long or because their boots are high. (Moodboard).
NIVICOLA
GOD: Zxterrax (Portrait)
CELEBRATION: Hearthsoul
MAIN CONTACT: av
TITLES: God of Small Brews, Limnly, The Witch, The Chain of Creation, The Cherished
Facets of Worship
The god of the Cult of Nivicola is deceptively approachable. She has a friendly face and an open door — as long as you can follow instructions. There's a reason as to why one of her other names is the Chain of Creation, because all creation is magic and magic has to have structure and all structure has rules. Rituals for Limnly have traditionally been about following or creating systems and structures -- the innovation of irrigation, creating a chore wheel, brewing a potion to the exact instructions. She has favored experimentation in the past as well, but only if it follows discipline.
Rules of Living
The Cult of Nivicola's aesthetic is 'cute and cottagecore'. There is a charming natural theme that dominates their clothes. Butterflies and plants are major motifs as well as mushrooms and 'witchy' things. Many members of the cult have large witch hats, but some prefer more subtle charms like potion belts and spell holsters. Handknit and fibercrafts are big among the cult and their clothing often reflects that. Jewelry and other finery are rarely precious gemstones or metals but more often whimsical and homemade. DALLI
GOD: Zciemaris (Portrait)
CELEBRATION: Precept Prime
MAIN CONTACT: aj
TITLES: The Absolute Boundary, The Tarnished Covenant, Rizus, the God of Fences
Facets of Worship
The god of the Cult of Dalli speaks in many voices and often in rhyme and does not try to be understood. Cryptic would be a good word for them; their followers believe many of their actions are benevolent and many of them do seem to be. Rizus is a god that believes in and enforces boundaries. They are a god of divisions, of contrasts and of barriers. In the past rituals for this god have revolved around the edict of 'behaving well' -- the benevolence of gifting food to another, an offering of doing a chore for someone else, the devotion of keeping someone captive for their own good, all of those have counted. After all, what is good behaviour but following boundaries set up by commandments?
Rules of Living
The Cult of Dalli has a motif of strong lines and divisions. Whether this is shown in fashion that mimics stained glass or solid colors that contrast with each other, their clothing is often bold. Geometric shapes are common as well as mosaic style patterns. Most jewelry that the cult wears are incredibly ornate and detailed and often wrists are covered either by gauntlets, gloves or large bangles. (Moodboard).
VIGNEI
GOD: Zfrulchom (Portrait)
CELEBRATION: The Climbing Coin
MAIN CONTACT: aj
TITLES: Herbert, The Merchant, God of Good Fortune, The God of Prosperity, The Broker
Facets of Worship
The god of the Cult of Vignei is one of the newer gods. Commerce and cash is a more human invention so he is not as old as some of the more primal concepts. He is a smooth-talking slick god with an interest in human progression and, of course, the exchange of currency. Rituals often center around some kind of commerce -- whether it's barter, stealing gold or simply paying the god, he has simple wants and that is fortune. Other more unusual rituals that fall under his domain are those of luxury creations, art that could be sold, cookie cutters to increase production of baked goods, that sort of thing. While he is greedy, he is also cowardly, but at least he will never cheat you.
Rules of Living
The Cult of Vignei is always well-dressed. Suits, ones that fit, not cheap rentals, and expensive cloths are a hallmark of the cult members. There is often an element of frivolry to their clothes, gold embellishment that has no place on a sharp suit, cuff-links that cost too much or exotic snakeskin shoes. All of their clothes scream expensive, but the cult also rarely wears jewelry. The accessories they bear are often simple (but no less expensive) watches, tie-pins, hair-pins and the like.
