Contract

The below contract is more or less exactly what your character would have signed on the way into The Stasis. This is non-negotiable and whatever god your character spoke to, that part does not change. Attempts to negotiate just result in the god being ready to take this deal elsewhere.

Please remember that you can always say that this was signed in a dream (or a nightmare!) or after death. Dead characters can use their 'small wish' to return to life, or shrewdly note that the contract already ensures life and thereby they get to come back to life regardless of if they include that in their wish or not. Really, if you were already dead this is a steal!

ICly, characters do talk and sign with whatever god's team they end up on, but obviously at the time of apping you don't know who that is. We also will not be playing out threads. So just handwave it. You can generally assume all the gods will be uninterested in any shenanigans or deep discussion or answering a lot of questions. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and if you snooze, you lose.

As clarified on the Application Page. Wishes can be generous but they cannot be multiple wishes or a wish for more wishes. You can assume that if something about your wish is squirrely or complex, the god clarified priority to signing to make sure they fully understood the scope of your character's intentions.

That said, they are absolutely not going to stop your character if they just wish for a really really good sandwich. That's on you, buddy.

Anywhere you see [God Name] below, it will be the name of the god featured here.

Anywhere you see [Character Name] it will be the closest thing to the character's 'True Name' that exists for them. Yes, They Just Know.

This Agreement is between [God Name] and [Character Name] ("Disciple"), jointly recognized as the Parties.

1. Term
The Agreement becomes effective the moment the Parties have both signed ("Term Start") and remains in effect until [God Name] has been freed from their prison (the "Stasis") ("Term End"). The entirety of this period is known as the Agreement Term Period.

1.1 Freedom
At the time of the signing of this Agreement, [God Name] is imprisoned within a pocket dimension known as the Stasis. This Agreement shall not Term, nor shall the Disciple receive their Payment, until [God Name] is able to freely and in good health leave the confines of the Stasis.

2. Conditions
2.1 The Disciple
The Disciple must reside in the Temple for a minimum of eight (8) hours every three (3) days. If the Disciple does not meet this requirement, [God Name] cannot be held responsible for any deterioration of the Disciple's mind, body, or soul.

The Disciple will perform rituals of sacrifice ("Rituals") which serve to increase [God Name]'s power. The Disciple will perform these Rituals from within the Stasis, where they will reside until the Term End. These Rituals will be performed with such regularity that they act as material benefit to [God Name]'s power. If this requirement is not met, [God Name] may at their discretion invoke their Right to Terminate.

2.2 [God Name]
[God Name] will ensure the survival and agelessness of the Disciple, and provide a place to live which meets the basic necessities of the Disciple's species (the "Temple").

[God Name] will be available for guidance and questions at least once per week.

[God Name] will fulfill the Wish laid out in the Payment section upon the Term End, provided the Right to Terminate has not been invoked prior.

3. Assurance
For the absolute clarity of both Parties: this Agreement in no way grants [God Name] control or ownership over the Disciple's mind, body, or soul. The Agreement is entered into willingly by the Parties, and Rituals performed in service to [God Name] are of material value only when performed willingly by the Disciple.

4. Right to Terminate
[God Name] may invoke the Right to Terminate in two conditions:

The Disciple is not performing rituals of material value to [God Name], such that the maintenance of their survival within the Stasis becomes an undue burden.
By mutual agreement between [God Name] and the Disciple.

The Right to Terminate will be carried out via Amendment to the Agreement, and take place immediately upon the signing of both parties ("Termination"). Termination, if invoked, will immediately Term the Agreement and free both Parties from any Conditions or Payments under this Agreement.

5. Payment
[God Name] will, only upon being freed from the Stasis, ensure the immediate granting of one (1) Wish, which is defined by the Disciple below:
